Janmashtami or Krishnashtami commemorates the birth anniversary of the divine cow-herd, Lord Krishna. It is on this auspicious day that Lord Krishna made his advent to His earthly abode to shower his blessings on humankind, as well as to eradicate the evil forces dominating the land.
We celebrated Janmashtami with a wide variety of programmes. We started the function with the lighting of the lamp by our Principal, followed by her message, speeches and dances by little children. We also conducted Go Puja, which reminds us of the important role the cow, symbolic of the mother, plays in our lives.
